Get to know me

My name is Matthieu Blankestijn, I am a partner at Eming.

What do you do at Eming and what do you enjoy most about your work?
Together with Arnold Wolters, I am the founder of Eming. Over the past few years, we have experienced tremendous growth, which means our roles are constantly changing depending on the situation at hand. And that’s actually what I enjoy most right now: thinking strategically about what is best for Eming. What are the opportunities and possibilities, but also the threats that are coming our way within our industry? How should we respond to them, and how can we strengthen and improve our position?
Of course, the reason why we started Eming always remains at the very top of our priorities: how do we take the pressure off our clients and our employees? At Eming, we always go for long-term relationships and want to shape these in the best possible way for everyone we work with.

What kind of colleague are you?
It’s always difficult to answer such a question about yourself, but I believe that as colleagues we are always open to helping one another. This can involve complex questions about certain collective labor agreements, but also practical matters such as finding housing for our employees. We do everything together, and that’s still how I approach my work. Our direct colleagues generally know that they can always call me at any time. If I don’t answer right away, I always try to call back as soon as possible when I get the chance.

What do you like to do in your free time?
My work is my hobby 😉 In addition, I really enjoy spending time at home with my wife and children, and I also love doing DIY projects in and around our house. We also enjoy skiing or taking wonderful caravan holidays, for example in Italy. When I head out on my own, I sometimes do so on my motorcycle: a beautiful Triumph Tiger 1200.
